ROSALINDNZINGA VAUGHN-NICHOL
b. Indianapolis, Indiana USA
Has a BFA from California State University at Long Beach, an M-Div., and an MA from Oral Roberts University, Tulsa, Oklahoma. Awards include Newark Arts, New Jersey, Highlights Foundation, Boyds Mills, Pennsylvania, and a grant to study Africana Traditions, from the Arts and Humanities Council of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Which she has used in part to teach an African-American Traditions course in college and community settings. She has exhibited in group and solo exhibitions and has worked with community arts groups, serving also as a curator and board member for over two decades. Her artwork can be found in private and public collections, including Novartis, Atlantic Breast Centers at Morristown and Summit, New Jersey, Mahn Center Archives & Special Collections, Ohio University Athens, Warner Media (Art Sims), for the original movie The Color Purple, and American music arranger/pianist Nat (and Angela) Adderley, Jr.
